Art retired on December 31, 2023 after 45 years of practice with the firm.

Art was a trusted advisor to many prominent Oregon businesses, working with clients on a wide range of business matters, including real estate, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions, as well as entity organization and planning.

Art had particular expertise in business succession planning and estate planning. He advised many family businesses, helping them to achieve their long term goals through organizing ownership to operate efficiently, saving unnecessary taxes, meeting the financial needs of the owners, and smoothly transitioning to the next generation. Art also helped individuals and families with estate and tax planning matters.

Working with trustees and personal representatives, Art provided experienced counsel, supporting smooth and efficient probate and trust administration work.

A native of Eugene, Art has three grown children. He spends his free time staying in shape for lots of hiking, climbing, and backpacking. Art is particularly noted for his igloo building skill during winter outings in the Oregon Cascades.
