Jeff has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America since 2009 for his work in healthcare law and employee benefits.
In his healthcare law practice, he works with healthcare providers and facilities on regulatory compliance, advising them on issues such as Medicare, Medicaid, fraud and abuse, and HIPAA, and he helps them with corporate governance, including employment agreements, ownership changes, and business transactions.
In his employee benefits practice, Jeff helps private employers and local governments design and maintain benefit plans, including 401(k), executive compensation, cafeteria, and self-insured major medical plans, as well as HRAs and HSAs.
Before earning his law degree from the University of Texas, Jeff worked as a software engineer. He clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit before joining Hershner Hunter in 1996. Born in Chicago, but raised in Eugene, Jeff is married with two children.
