Steve was born and raised in the Eugene/Springfield area. He joined Hershner Hunter in 1999 and provides counsel on land use and real estate development matters. His expertise and unique perspective are the result of serving three terms as Lane County Commissioner, as a Bush appointee to the U.S. Public Lands Advisory Council, and as President of the Association of Oregon Counties.
The son of Pete Cornacchia, long-time Register Guard outdoor columnist, Steve is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping and fishing. He and his wife, Diana, who is a teacher and administrator in the Springfield School District, have two grown children, Mackenzie and Nathan.
Steve has been active as an Emerald KIDSPORTS coach and Director and coach for the Thurston area of the Willamette Valley Babe Ruth Baseball League.
