Kate joined Hershner Hunter in 2005, after graduating first
in her class from the University of Oregon School of Law.
While in law school, Kate served as an associate editor for
the Oregon Law Review and co-authored a paper on local
government autonomy among Washington cities for a
project led by Harvard Law School. Before attending law
school, Kate was a newspaper reporter whose stories
appeared on the front pages of The Oregonian and The
Bend Bulletin.
Kate and her husband Dean have three children, Zoe, Van,
and Kit. As a family, they enjoy cheering for the Oregon
Ducks football, basketball, and lacrosse teams and attending
performances by the Eugene Symphony.
