Kate joined Hershner Hunter in 2005, after graduating first in her class from the University of Oregon School of Law. Before attending law school, Kate was a newspaper reporter whose stories appeared on the front pages of The Oregonian and The
Bend Bulletin.

Kate and her husband Dean have three children, Zoe, Van, and Kit. As a family, they enjoy cheering for the Oregon Ducks football, basketball, and lacrosse teams and attending performances by the Eugene Symphony.
