After graduating from law school, Craig clerked for the Oregon Supreme Court for two years before joining Hershner Hunter in 1974.

He has served on the Executive Committees of the Oregon State Bar Business and Tax Sections.  During that service he participated in redrafting the Oregon statutes relating to professional corporations and testified in support of that legislation in the Oregon Legislature.  He represents many hospital-based physician groups as well as large multi-specialty groups and other healthcare providers.

Craig’s practice coincided with the enactment of ERISA, and he has actively practiced in that area since.  He represents a broad range of qualified retirement plan sponsors covering from one to over 1,000 participants.

Craig has been included in the book The Best Lawyers in America since 1991 in both of his practice areas.  He is a member of the American Association of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
Craig grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970.  He is actively involved in civic and business organizations.  He was first elected to the Eugene School Board in 1995 and has served as its chair twice.  He has also served on the Board and was an officer of the Oregon School Boards Association, as well as serving on Boards of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and Eugene Rotary Club.  He enjoys travel, history, golf and strolls through the woods.  His wife Mary and he have two daughters, Kristi and Katie, both of whom work in public education.
